The Challenge

At its inception, The Ginger Pig was defined by its single-minded passion for great food and a compelling backstory. However, with only a name and a vision, the brand needed a strong identity that could attract and inspire potential customers. The objectives were clear:

  • Build a recognizable brand: Capture the essence of Colorado’s vibrant culture while embodying the spirited character of its namesake.

  • Develop a cohesive visual identity: Create a look and feel that communicated both the warmth of home-cooked meals and the excitement of an on-the-go food truck.

  • Support a growth strategy: Design marketing materials and an online presence that would pave the way for expansion from a mobile operation to a brick-and-mortar restaurant with a second location.

The Solution

Working closely with Natascha, the visionary behind The Ginger Pig, the project evolved into a multi-phase brand development initiative. Here’s how we brought the vision to life:

Comprehensive Branding & Logo Design

Color + Concept

By incorporating Colorado’s state colors alongside elements inspired by Natascha’s friend’s pig, Ginger, we created a logo that exuded authenticity and a sense of fresh beginnings. The design should also evoke the calm and joy experienced while cooking, setting the stage for a unique customer experience that needed to be rolled into an Asian Street-Style Food Truck.

It Started with a Dynamic Truck Wrap

Leveraging Colorado’s energetic palette, the food truck’s wrap design was crafted to stand out on the streets while communicating the brand’s ethos. This design not only attracted curious onlookers but also established a visual connection to the brand’s larger story.

That Turned into a Restaurant and a Second Location

WEBSITE DESIGN

The website is in its third iteration, following the business as it evolved from a food truck to a food stall at Rosetta Hall and finally to a standalone brick-and-mortar sitdown restaurant with a second location that harkens back to the food truck as a simple takeaway window in the University Hill area of Boulder. A user-friendly and visually engaging website was built to serve as the brand’s digital hub. It communicates The Ginger Pig’s journey, menu, and values while integrating seamless navigation and modern aesthetics.

COMMERCIAL VIDEOGRAPHY & PHOTOGRAPHY

High-quality images and video content capture the essence of the dining experience—from the artistry of the food to the inviting ambiance of the restaurant. This media-rich approach helps convey the story in a way that resonates emotionally with audiences.

Printed Branding

Business cards, stickers, apparel (including hats, t-shirts, and embroidered aprons), and even tattoos were developed to extend the brand’s reach. Each piece was designed to create a memorable touchpoint with customers.

The Impact

The transformative branding strategy has not only helped The Ginger Pig stand out in a competitive market but has also supported its expansion from a single food truck to a thriving restaurant with a second location. Natascha’s dedication to quality and innovation, combined with a thoughtfully executed brand identity, has proven that with the right concept and strategic marketing, a business can truly flourish.
