BDJ Equestrian

Unionville, PA + Reddick, FL

BDJ Equestrian is US rider Buck Davidson Jr's equestrian business. Buck and his wife, Andrea, run two training facilities where riders come to train one-on-one with them. They also hold multi-rider workshops, buy and sell horses that they train, and board horses. Buck's list of accomplishments is insane, including a #1 ranking in the United States and reaching as high as #5 in the world. But you don't get there without A LOT of hard work. So they're bringing their A-game to BDJ Equestrian, and they wanted a website to reflect that.

When they were referred to me, they already had colors they were eventing with, their signature primrose yellow and red. However, they didn't have a logo to represent their business, and they didn't have a website. This is where I came in.

Logo Design

The logos had to have three variations: two that fit their competition colors and a greyscale version for the occasional business need; remember, faxing still exists.

Responsive Mobile Web Design

A lot of their business marketing comes from Buck eventing across the globe. Therefore, it was imperative to have a website that could be accessed by anyone they came across or that wanted to Google Buck.

Though these are static screen captures, the parallax scrolling effect is a prominent feature of their website.

A Dynamic Calendar

Buck and Andrea have full schedules. They needed a calendar that let their fans and potential students know where in the world they were and what they were up to.

Their calendar of events clearly marked weekends that were strictly eventing (E) or a clinic (C) weekend where either Buck or Andrea was training the next generation of riders. Weekends, where Buck was eventing and Andrea would be holding a clinic, were kept simple. Either way, when looking for more information, a user would hover over the event to learn more.

THE WEBSITE IS CURRENTLY OWNER-OPERATED.
