The MAINE Event

Comprehensive Branding Package + Food Trailer Wrap

Boulder, CO

Chef Marc is a passionate guy; he’s a chef and poet. Don’t be fooled by this Renaissance man because his kitchen career started in the Marines, and he holds a black belt. The man has had a very vibrant life. He’s cooked for celebrities in LA, gave rise to a unique catered experience atop Mount Washington for New Year’s Eve, managed a Marriot in Chicago, and raised his kids in Maine while serving as the Chef de Cuisine at several hotels and inns. After 22 years in Maine, he returned to Colorado, where he’d spent his summers on horseback in Durango, bringing his entrepreneurship and the bounty of Maine with him.

He went through a couple of names before settling on The MAINE Event and asked me to create a design that married all of the things he loved about Maine. His list was long: moose, the chickadee, cranberries, wild blueberries, potato, venison, the Whoopie Pie, and Atlantic-sourced seafood that, of course, would include the famous Maine lobster (yep, he overnights it!).

One of our main(e) responsibilities as designers is to help people channel all of their ideas into something that communicates their brand and engages people towards it. Often, this is accomplished by editing down the list of ideas. The MAINE Event embodies this. The “Mooster” is a Maine event that reminded me of mythologic Gods that needed an origin story, and it all just came together as a legend being born. The MAINE Event is one of my favorite brands to have created; I hope you enjoy it.

Testimonial from Chef Marc

When I first reached out to Clytie Sadler of sadler studio + design in mid-2019, I knew I needed help designing a professional website for my start-up food truck business, but also with a logo, branding, a takeout menu, uniforms, business cards, and a food truck wrap. It’s a lot. In the weeks and months following our contractual agreement and working relationship, the services, and support I received far exceeded any expectations I had at the outset. AND above and beyond all of the technical aspects I needed coaching, it was Clytie’s creativity and skill I was continually, and happily, impressed with. As if those weren’t enough to confirm that it was start-up money well worth the investment, Clytie spent several hours with me in personal phone conferences and consultations, driving home time and again, I felt I had a true partner in the creative process. Without her and her top-notch skill and cooperation, I simply would not be where I am after six months in business, with people of all ages raving not just about my food, but about the unique, bold and vibrant, original design and color of the “wrap” of my food truck, along with kudos for having such a great website. To top it all off, Clytie personally took professional photos of my operation and menu items and sent me a digital file chock full of sharp pics that I could use for any of my marketing through social media outlets. sadler studio + design ROCKS!! Thank you, Clytie!
